Wayne began working in his family's wholesale jewelry manufacturer business in 1974. Fourteen years later he went to work in a full retail store and began to design and hand make one of a kind pieces. Making items with a client's likes and desires is the niche he enjoys. Wayne exceeds expectations when consulting with a client that has inherited items that may not suit their taste or style by remaking those stones into an item they can love and proudly wear. This year Gumer and Company is planning to celebrate their 50th year in business. Bruce and Myrilan Gumer began by selling American coins, Gold, Sliver bullion and bars in 1971. In 1981 opened a retail jewelry store in the Heyburn Buillding on the corner of 4th and Broadway in Louisville, Kentucky. In 1991, they opened their store on Hurstbourne Parkway.
