In this episode, I talk about affordable solutions to put precious time back in your work week, tune in as I explain how to stay relevant top of mind, and massage those warm leads by automating your communications, and your schedule.

Your listening to a Business Booster episode of The Ring The Bling And All The Things podcast. My name is Kristina Stubblefield. I'm a technology consultant, marketing strategist, business coach, and in the past a wedding vendor. In these podcast episodes, I'm providing impactful, easy to implement solutions and strategies for efficient workflow and business growth. Now, let's dive in to this episode.

So I wanted to do a follow up episode to dive a little deeper to a couple of the topics that we discussed last week. And if you didn't catch that episode, we had a guest on that you all recognize Michael Gaddie, owner of Lloyd's florist, and we were really talking about automation, and how he's utilized it in his business. And there was a couple of topics that I wanted to dive into just a little bit deeper. And that is email marketing, as well as online bookings. And what I'm talking about with online bookings, booking appointments online is a better way to say it. So first, let's talk about email marketing. And before you turn this off, or your eyes glaze over. A lot of times people don't realize the term email marketing. They think, well, I send emails out from my Gmail, or I send emails out for my business account. And here's what I want to talk about. Email marketing, is utilized to help you grow your audience, or help you engage with existing customers. There are many options with email marketing. Some people out there don't utilize this. And it's really a shame because it is an inexpensive tool to utilize an email marketing software that tracks the results. And to me, that's key, you know, I'm a numbers person, I've been a partner with Constant Contact, I believe all the way back to 2008. A long time, and boy has it evolved. And what I want to share with you is the missed opportunities, if you do not utilize your database. Now, what am I talking about database, now this is going to apply to different people. But let's say you do a wedding show and you get a list of the attendees or the people that registered the engaged couples most of the time. You could also be part of networking groups. And there's other members that are part of that group. That could be a list. Also, what about your current customers? That could be a list? How do you utilize those list to stay top of mind? Maybe they're not your client yet. Maybe they've already been your client, but they could refer someone else to you. But you're not top of mind. And that's the thing is a lot of times people use the term email marketing, but I think that can be confusing. Because not only are you marketing through email, you are massaging relationships, you are staying relevant. Maybe a person didn't talk to you at a wedding show. Maybe there were already so many people at your booth. They didn't even realize you were a vendor of air. So many opportunities. But when we talk about email marketing, what makes that important is the data. How many people are opening your email? Are people taking action when they open your email? Or are they clicking on links that are in your email? Have you included a video? Are they watching that video? And for some of you that are listening you might be like here she goes. The point in me sharing this is number one, it is not good practice to send mass emails, multiple emails through CC or BCC through your business account or a Gmail. Number one you can get flagged and what I mean by that is you could be marked as a spammer then the emails you do need to send start getting blocked or started going to people's junk mail. There is a whole side of that

Number two, you cannot get results, you cannot get the analytics, this the data off of sending emails like that. You don't know how many people got it? How many people actually received it in their inbox? How many people opened it? How long did they spend on your emails? Did they click on any links the whole thing that I just mentioned, that's what you get through an email marketing software. Some people that do email marketing, don't do solicitation emails, they do monthly newsletters, quarterly newsletters, the list goes on and on. The whole point to this is email marketing is a powerful tool. And what it can help you do is really drilled down to your database, the people that are interested. And we would call that your warm audience. And allows you to retarget or to more deeply target that warm audience that was obviously interested in something because they clicked on the link that was included in the email. There are so many opportunities. I also haven't even discussed the opportunity to grow your list with tools that are included with a lot of email marketing programs. And what I mean by that is you can put a join our newsletter, link on your website or button that allows people to join your email list that you may not even know, there's so many other things too, they can scan a QR code, they can send a text message, it depends on the software you go with. But there's opportunities there. There's also automation that's available through email marketing software. And you know, a lot of times I use the term automation and clients I hear from they're like, I really don't understand that term. Automation means something happens automatically when an action takes place. So when you set up automation, and I'm gonna say this through email marketing software, so say you send out an email, and someone clicks on a button or a link that you have in there. And you want to follow up with just the people that clicked on that link. Or you want to know who those people are. Maybe you don't want to do anything, you just want to know who they are, you can set it up to automatically put the people that click on the link into its own separate list. That way, your audience is now segmented automatically. And the next email you send out, maybe you only want to send it to the people that clicked on that link. And really what it happens from it's in real time, that that's the key is it's not something else for you to do. It's not something else added to your plate. And there's there's many other things. And the reason I'm sharing this is because how many questions I've gotten recently about some of the previous podcast episodes I've done. That is it's posed a lot of questions for people. And that's why I want to have an opportunity to really dive into email marketing, how it can save you time, how it can help you grow your list, how it can help you drive leads, and sales. And I'm going to do that through a free workshop. Now, at the time of this recording, there will be a link posted in the show notes or out on our social media that you can find out about that. If you're listening to this recording at some point in time down the road, you will still have access to be able to watch the recorded version. Or even if you're listening to this now and it just came out and you cannot join live you'll have the option to catch the recorded version. And the reason this is so important to me is a lot of times people do not utilize this in their business because number one, they don't understand it. And number two, no one's really shown them what the options are, what the opportunities are for this business for their business, I should say in a couple of the things that we're going to talk about

is some best practices with using email marketing, whether that be for newsletters, whether that be follow ups after a wedding show, whether that could be to a list of members that are part of a group or organization and that you're a member of past clients, it does not matter who your list is, maybe you have no list, and you're hearing this and you're like, Well, I've never kept track of a list. Okay, great, you're still going to be, you're still going to be able to take quite a bit away from this workshop. And the best practices to I want to discuss, you know, what, what's peak times to send, you know, segmenting your list, personalizing your subject line, that is so important. There's other things that we can talk about as well as resending to people that don't open the email the first time it goes out. It's kind of a retargeting feature. Also, your contact list, you know, making sure they stay up to date. So I really want to dive into more of that. And be able to maybe start the conversation that this is something you should consider in your business. This is so much more than marketing. But it's something you should consider or maybe you're doing it but you don't know the the best practices, maybe you don't know about the differences of doing it through your business email versus using a software. That's what I want to discuss. So get all the details for the upcoming workshop. The second topic from last week that I want to dive more into, is booking online appointments. I've worked with quite a few, quite a few wedding professionals that did not use an online scheduling software. And before you roll your eyes and huff and puff and be like, there's no possible way. Don't worry. I've worked with many of people. That that's what they said. And one week, after having it in place, like Mike mentioned in last week's episode, it was a huge difference for him. He wish he would have done it years ago. And I want to change that for business owners, especially those in the wedding business. Time is of the essence. And let's be honest, there are times that you are out of your email, you're completely out of your business, except for working events Thursday through Monday. What if there was a tool that you had in place for your business that allowed people to schedule appointments with you, based on your availability? Online? Do you know how many phone calls, text messages, emails you can eliminate? By having an online booking system in place? It is so more affordable. Let me get that right. Some people out there are shocked to find out just how affordable a solution like this is. And how much is your time worth? I believe Mike mentioned last week, some of these things that have been put in place, you know, he's gotten back four or five hours in a week. You know, what is your time really worth in your business? And you may be out there like, well, but how will they know my schedule? I don't want people to know what's on my schedule. I don't want people to see what I have going on. They won't you have complete control over what someone has access to. As a matter of fact, when you go in to book an appointment online, you don't even see someone's calendar, all you see is what's available. And it's based on the data you plug in. You can connect your calendar like for me, I use Google Calendar, you connect your calendar to the software, but then you can take it several steps further. Maybe you only want to do appointments on Tuesday and Wednesday. Why? Because you don't want to do appointments on Monday. You just come off events throughout the weekend. And maybe Thursday and Fridays are too busy. You put on there Tuesday and Wednesday are the only days that I do these appointments. And then guess what, if your availability isn't until three weeks out, then that's when your availability is you also don't have to go the back and forth with people well, I work on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. You don't feel like you have to conform to your clients schedules. They will make it work. I speak from experience. And I speak from seeing it time and time again with my own clients.

They will not question it. And if it's a big issue, guess what? They're gonna pick up the phone and call you. But I'll be honest, I hear of that happening very rarely. You're able to have control over your schedule control over your own time. There are so many opportunities with online booking of appointment It's. And I feel like it's the easiest way to show people what the options are, to walk them through it, how we can be utilized that you can actually put a link on your website that says schedule an appointment, you click it, it goes and says, Oh, my next appointment available next Tuesday at 4pm. It is very flexible, it's very detailed, it is very user friendly. And the best part about it, you as the business owner have complete control over it. So I'm going to tackle this to be able to show you how it works, and how you can utilize this in your business by doing a free workshop. So you've heard me mentioned about the workshop about email marketing, this is going to be a set a separate workshop, it's going to be free. And you can get all the information for it in the show notes as well as much feedback that comes in on a regular basis from not only our clients, but other people out in the community out in the wedding industry. These are two topics I really feel like could benefit so many people if they just had a little bit of insight into how it works. So I'm gonna pull back the curtain. And I'm going to show you how you can utilize these two tools to benefit you on a regular basis in your business. But in the future, for you to have growth opportunities, however you want in your business. And the whole thing is, is to keep time at the forefront because time is money. I cannot wait to hear your feedback on this. Make sure you register to participate in the live workshop. If you cannot join live, don't worry, but just by registering you will get the link to the recorded version. This are going to be hands on I'm going to share my screen. We're going to go through this and discuss these topics. Again, the email marketing workshop will be separate than the booking appointments online workshop. All the details are in the show notes as well as on our social media. Speaking of social media, if you have not already followed me, Christina Stubblefield, or the ring, the bling and all the things on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Tik Tok all the channels, please take a moment and do so because we want to follow you back.
